Department of Biochemistry, KAHER's JGMM Medical College, Conducted a E poster presentation session for Advanced learners of MBBS Phase I 2023-2024 batch.
Theme of the event : "Lipids-Then and Now: A Scientific Arena to witness the past, present and Future of lipids in health and disease."
Date : 9th February 2024.
Time : 2pm to 5pm.
Venue : Lecture Hall 2, B Block, JGMM Medical College.

Brief report :
The session was tailored for advanced learners who could work out, and tweak
the research side of their brains. Twenty-Nine students were selected based on their
performance in their previous exams, and interactive sessions. These students were divided
into 7 groups, and were assigned a topic each. They gave their teams interesting names based
on the titles they got. These topics were based on present knowledge, recent advances, and
future trends in Lipids. The topics ranged from chylomicrons, LDL/VLDL, HDL
metabolisms, Cholesterol, and recent advances to Metabolic syndrome, Lipid profile, and
fatty Liver. The group names were even more interesting like Chyloexplorers, Atheroma,
Atheroallies, Lipomania, Lipinerds, Atkins, and Anakainosis.
Students put their hearts, and souls into it , and worked hard to prepare the e-posters.
The event was co-ordinated by Dr. Nimisha V, Associate professor of Biochemistry and Dr.
Deepak Tangadi , Assistant professor of Biochemistry under guidance of Dr. Amrut A.
Dambal ,Professor and Head Department of Biochemistry , JGMMMC.
Chairpersons for the session were Dr. Siddaganga , and Dr Vijayalakshmi KP, Associate
Professors from the Department of General Medicine, JGMMC.The event was also graced by respected Principal Sir, and Respected Vice Principal Madam
which added more stars to the program.
The Department of Biochemistry with the teaching faculty comprising of Dr Amrut A
Dambal, Dr Mahalaxmi S Petimani, Dr Nimisha V, Dr Deepak Tangadi, Ms Nikita Desai and Ms Bhagyashree as well as non-teaching staff comprising of Mr Kiran, Mr Santhosh, Mrs
Savitri and Mr Mahesh worked with perfect coordination, wherein each member contributed in his/her best possible way for this event to become a grand success.
